Ivo Boscarol, dr. H.C.

Ivo Boscarol, Dr. H.C. is a pilot, flight instructor, five-time national champion, pioneer of electric aviation and best known as the founder and co-owner of the Pipistrel Group of Companies, which designs and manufactures the world’s most advanced light aircraft with affiliates in Slovenia, Italy and China. He is a highly respected entrepreneur both in Slovenia and abroad. For 9 years in a row, he has been awarded the Readers’ Digest award for “most trusted businessman” in Slovenia. Politico magazine has ranked him among the 28 most influential people in the European Union. He was named a Living Legend of Aviation by the American Kiddie Hawk Aviation Academy. He was awarded the FAI’s highest award for his contribution to aviation and the highest state civilian decoration, the Golden Order of the President of the Republic of Slovenia. The University of Nova Gorica awarded him the title of Doctor Honoris Causa for his outstanding scientific and professional achievements.
