Conclusion

Dear friends,

Yesterday we concluded the 35th Bled eConference.

Since 1988 when professor Gričar started the EDI conference, the conference has never been cancelled and was only postponed once. This year was the first time back in Bled after two years online and our first time hosting a hybrid conference.

We had eight presenters on Sunday’s Doctoral Consortium. During the opening, we listened to two excellent keynote presentations. The first by Stefaan G. Verhulst, “If you build it, will they come?” and the second by Dan Podjed, “Staying human in the time of digital transformation”. The authors presented 39 research papers and five research in progress papers. Four groups of students from Slovenia, Croatia and the Netherlands competed in the Students Bazaar. We hosted two panels related to digital health, a workshop on the state of SMEs’ digitalisation in recent years and a workshop on business informatics programme reengineering.

During the next few days, we will upload photos and share highlights from the conference on the website and social media.

We thank you for your patience, participation, questions and discussions. Most of all, we thank you for the outpour of positive feedback that we are still receiving. We were looking forward to meeting friends we didn’t see in three years and meeting members of our community that joined us in the past few years. We feel humbled and blessed. We are already looking forward to next year.
