The 2017 International Case Study Competition took place between March 21st and 23rd 2017 and was organised in cooperation between the Faculty of organizational sciences of the University of Maribor and Fraport Aviation Academy.

 

 

 

 

 

Beginning on Tuesday, March 21st on the premises of the Faculty of organisational sciences in Kranj, the competition entrants were first made aware of the rules of the competition along with the agenda of the activities planned for the following days. After a formal introduction by representatives of the faculty and organisational committee of the event, competitors listened to a short presentation of the core problem to be solved during the competition. The presentation was given by the director of the Fraport aviation academy, Mr. Thomas Uihlein. The main subject matter of the case problem pertained to market research with regards to promoting crisis management education courses in a specific geographical region.

Following the presentation of the case problem, the participants had a time window of under 48 hours to put together a solution to the presented problem and prepare a 15 minutes presentation. As part of the 36th International Conference on Organisational Science Development, beginning at 10:30 on Thursday, March 23rd the teams presented their solutions to a jury panel consisting of: Mr. Thomas Uihlein and Ms. Tina Javor of Fraport aviation academy, dr. Slavica Cicvarić Kostić of the University of Belgrade, Faculty of organizational sciences, dr. Alenka Tratnik and dr. Miha Marič of the University of Maribor, Faculty of organizational sciences.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The jury noted all solutions were interesting and innovative, with immediately usable aspects and in general well-grounded in quality research. Based on the scoring of individual solutions, most points and thereby first place, was awarded to the Power Sales team of the Faculty of organizational sciences Belgrade, followed in second place by Bowtie Consulting of the Faculty of organizational sciences Belgrade and in third was team Limonce of the Faculty of organizational sciences Kranj.
