About the conference
The 32nd conference on Organizational Science
Development, organized by the University of Maribor’s Faculty of Organizational
Sciences, brings together students, researchers, business people and
representatives of public administration. It will be held in the beautiful venue
of Portorož, in the spring, with the title ‘’Smart Organization’’ - ‘’High
Potentials. Lean Organization. Internet of Things.’’.
Key areas of education and research programmes of the Faculty of Organizational
Sciences, University of Maribor are people, processes and information. Similar
directions are also explored by the faculties and institutions around the world
because these issues are universal categories. Practitioners are constantly
faced with numerous problems relating to people, their organization and
information technology. Solutions to these problems are often very complex and
interdisciplinary. However, sometimes the solutions are very simple, but that
does not mean that the solving process is also trivial. Researchers, aside of
their laboratory also need challenges and incentives to apply their achievements
in everyday of real organizations.
This conference enables the exchange of good practices as well as introduction
with the potentials of emerging methods and approaches. Networking opportunities,
sharing of experiences, presentations of challenges and solutions, reached
activities for students and ultimately a very comfortable environment, have
already convinced participants from many institutions and countries.
Smart organizations know how to detect and develop high potentials, they know
how to implement processes without unnecessary use of resources and are able to
interconnect information and communication technology, to improve the decision-making
at all levels. Inseparable parts of smart organizations are ethics and
sustainable development.
I am looking forward to your participation at the conference and I hope that the
conference will meet and exceed your expectations.
