Publication opportunities

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

we would like to take this opportunity to remind and encourage you to submit your papers to the Bled 2015 conference. We realize that there are other conferences that compete for your attendance. The specific nature of the Bled conference tends to attract contributions in the earlier stages of the empirical cycle, making the scientific discourse and conversations during the conference all the more interesting.

However, we would like to draw your attention to a perhaps lesser known fact about our conference. It has a long history of working together with respected journals in the IS community. From 1995 to 2004, a strategic partnership existed with the International Journal of Electronic Commerce (IJEC), and resulted in the publication of 40 papers in a series of ten Special Sections of that journal. Commencing in 2006, a strategic partnership has been entered into with the leading journal Electronic Markets – The International Journal on Networked Business. Each year, authors of selected papers are invited to submit enhanced versions for consideration for a Special Section in Electronic Markets journal. Papers from 2011 and 2012 are published in Volume 23, Issue 4.

The conference’s focus on relevance and rigour and the attraction to senior and junior scholars alike have provided for a breeding ground for many articles over the years.

This year we have looked for ways to make participating and contributing to the conference even more valuable to you as an author.

In 2015, we have secured the partnership of the following journals:

and may facilitate the publication of enhanced versions of further selected papers.

Selected papers will be published in the book under Lecture Notes in Information Systems and Organisation section by Springer.

What this means to you is that these journals will work with us to try and progress the best Bled contributions to meet their scope and standards for publication. Based on quality and thematic match, the journals will preselect promising contributions prior to the conference. At the event there will be dedicated sessions where the authors and the (guest)-editors of the journal can discuss the next steps to be taken to progress the contribution towards acceptance. Although we cannot provide guarantees that the selected papers will be automatically accepted for publication in the journal, we do believe this process does offer the best conditions to achieve this goal.

We are looking forward to receiving your contributions – and so do our partner journals. To give you a bit more time to prepare your contribution we have also decided to extend the deadline for submission to February 2, 2015. Enter your submission via Submission section.

On behalf of the entire Program Committee, we wish you Happy Holidays and hope to see you all in beautiful Bled in 2015!
